Competive Team
Hamilton City Ballet is a strong believer in dance going beyond just the technical steps. Our competitive program nurtures a healthy, performance-driven mindset while deepening each dancer’s appreciation for the art of dance. Through dedicated rehearsals and the guidance of our experienced faculty, students grow not only as dancers, but as expressive, collaborative performers. Every choreographed piece offers an opportunity to develop artistry, discipline, and confidence both on and off the stage.
Audition for the 2027 competitive team:
April 19, 2027, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Arrival is at 11:30 pm for warm-up, payment, and in-person registration.

What are we looking for?
During the audition the teachers and artistic directors will be looking for: musicality, advanced technique, coordination, and the ability to understand and apply corrections.
Competitive Fees Broken Down
Classes Fee: $2,350 +TX
AGES 6 – 8
- Ballet Class 2/week
- Jazz Technique Class 1/week
- 2% discount included
Classes Fee: $3,605 +TX
AGES 9 – 13
- Ballet class 2/week
- Jazz or Contemporary 1/week
- Historical & Character 1/week
- Stretch/Stamina/Conditioning Class 1/week
- 10% discount included
Classes Fee: $4,500 +TX
AGES 14 – 18
- Ballet Class + Pointe 2/week
- 2 classes of your choice: ballet, historical dance, jazz, or contemporary
- Pilates Class 1/week
- Stretch/Stamina/Conditioning Class 1/week
- 18% discount included
Competitive Registration Fees
3 Mandatory Competitions (per person)
- Large Group: $65 per competition per number
- Small Group: $70 per competition per number
- Duet/Trio: $90 per competition per number
- Solo: $110 per competition per number
Rehearsal Fees (per person)
- Large Group: $35 per 5 hours of rehearsals
- Small Group: $55 per 5 hours of rehearsals
- Duet/Trio: $130 per 5 hours of rehearsals
- Solo: $185 per 5 hours of rehearsals
